BRAINTREE, Mass. — Police are investigating after a motor vehicle crash left two drivers injured in Braintree.
According to the Braintree Police Department, officers were dispatched around 3:59 AM to the area of 555 Pond Street to reports of a motor vehicle crash.
When officers arrived, they found a Nissan and a Mazda with heavy front-end damage.
Police said both drivers were injured in the collision. The driver of the Nissan was found unconscious and suffering from serious internal injuries. Responding officers removed the driver from the vehicle and provided emergency aid until firefighters and paramedics arrived.
Both drivers were taken to South Shore Hospital for treatment. The Nissan driver was later transported by Boston MedFlight to a Boston hospital for advanced care.
The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office responded to assist with the investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
