Two dead after being pulled from water off Martha’s Vineyard

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, Mass. — Two people are dead after being pulled from the water off Martha’s Vineyard.

According to the Edgartown Fire Department, crews received reports of a capsized boat off Cow Bay around 11:05 a.m. on Thursday with people in the water.

Preliminary investigation does not suggest foul play, and according to the DA, it appears ‘weather played a role in this tragedy.’

Both individuals were transported to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital in critical condition, where they were later pronounced dead.

The names of the victims have not been released, and an investigation remains ongoing.
