CANTON, Mass. — Two fields at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Canton were vandalized on Thursday morning.

Ruane field and Salah field were covered with deep indentations from what appears to be vehicle tracks.

Canton Parks and Recreation staff believe the incident took place between 2 and 3 a.m. on Aug. 6.

Staff said the damage was manageable and estimated to be contained to the size of a 40-foot by 70-foot box.

There are no games scheduled this weekend.

The only sports organization using the field right now is Pop Warner, which offers youth football, cheer and dance. The organization uses the space Monday through Thursday.

The holes in the field have already been filled and seeded.
