Truck fire closes the Leverett Connector overnight

BOSTON — A truck fire temporarily closed the Leverett Connector for hours early Wednesday morning.

Video shared to Boston 25 shows a truck engulfed in flames around 2 a.m.

According to state police, troopers responded to an Amazon box truck fully engulfed in flames around 1:54 a.m.

Boston EMS says they were not called to the scene and did not transport anyone to the hospital.

The off ramp to Exit 18 was closed while Boston Fire attempted to extinguish the flame.

Mass DOT was notified and the Amazon truck was secured, and the Exit 18 Ramp was re-opened.
