Brockton police and Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash at approximately 10:50 p.m. Monday on Belmont Street near Edinboro Avenue.
Video from the scene shows significant damage to the front of the State Police cruiser.
A black sedan involved in the crash ended up in the grass off the roadway and appeared to have sustained extensive damage.

According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 2:18 a.m. Monday, a trooper from the Medford Barracks reported that his cruiser was struck while parked on the shoulder adjacent to the breakdown lane on I-93 North in Stoneham.
The trooper suffered minor injuries and was expected to be okay. The driver of the vehicle that struck the cruiser was issued two civil citations for impeded operation and a marked-lanes violation.
State Police said the impeded-operation citation was related to distracted driving.
