RAYNHAM, Mass. — A day after Small Business Saturday, a real-life grinch targeted a local garden center, stealing Christmas trees, wreaths and supplies.
It happened just after midnight Monday at the Garden Patch on Route 44 in Raynham.
It’s been a tough year already, especially for small businesses trying to survive and stay open amid the pandemic. But at the busiest time of year for this garden shop, a real-life grinch tried to steal its Christmas cheer. Fortunately, the act was caught on camera and the business is asking for your help.
The Garden Patch posted the surveillance video on its Facebook page.
You can see the thief get on top of a dumpster to get over the fence. That person then topples over a Christmas tree and falls down. He immediately gets to work by heaving that Christmas tree up over the fence.
The man is wearing a sweatshirt that says “pitbulls and coffee”, a hat, mask and backpack. He then entered the store, and according to the Garden Patch’s Facebook post, stole the cash registers, a backpack blower, tools, and a number of wreaths and supplies. He also smashed the store’s credit card machines, the post said.

This garden center closed Monday as a result. The owner reported the robbery to police and now they are investigating.
