Suspect arrested in connection to Hyde Park murder

BOSTON — The Boston Fugitive Unit located a suspect on May 7 in connection to a homicide investigation that happened in Hyde Park in December last year.

The suspect, Emmanuel Maldonado, 21, of Boston, was arrested on Woolson Street in Mattapan at 11:54 a.m. last Friday.

The incident occurred at 7:34 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2020. Officers were alerted to the incident after receiving calls of shots fired on Ellis Street in Hyde Park.

Once police arrived on scene, officers located a male victim on a nearby street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was later transported to a local area hospital where was later pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as Storlen Webster, 22, of Roxbury.

The Boston Police Department told Boston 25 that at the time of the suspect’s arrest, he was wanted on an outstanding warrant that was sought out by the Suffolk Superior Court for allegedly committing murder, assault with the intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition that all stems from the ongoing homicide investigation.

After a brief struggle, the suspect was placed in custody on scene and is expected to appear for an arraignment at the Suffolk Superior Court.
