The Trooper was transported to a Boston hospital. He is undergoing tests and treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Three travel lanes were closed and the investigation into the crashes is ongoing.

The incident remains under investigation.

“This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers law enforcement officers face every time they leave home and assume their role as public safety professionals,” State Police Colonel John Mawn Jr. said.
