As thunderstorms blew over Massachusetts Friday night, dumping rain on the region, drivers - and baseball fans- saw their nights disrupted.
Parts of the Bay State from Worcester to Boston were under a flash flood warning late into the evening.
Friday’s night game between the Red Sox and New York Mets was suspended, set to resume Saturday. As fans began to pour out of the stadium, so did the mini-flood.
Matt Crow shared a video of water descending the steps at Fenway, past an unnecessarily placed wet floor sign.
The streets outside the ballpark weren’t any drier either.
However, Red Sox infielder Justin Turner was ready to brave the elements, cheekily tweeting he thought the Sox and Mets could’ve kept playing.
Around 30 miles north of Boston, Billerica police asked drivers to over Mount Pleasant Street as pooling flood waters made a habit of snatching cars.
Danger also came from above. Wellesley police shared the aftermath of a lightning strike on a tree off Schaller Street.
