Report: Triston Casas, baseball’s 26-ranked prospect, to make Red Sox debut Sunday

While the Red Sox may be a long shot to make the playoffs, fans have gained a new reason to tune in for the home stretch of the regular season.

First basemen Triston Cases, baseball’s 26-ranked prospect according to MLB.com, will make his Fenway debut on Sunday, according to a report from MassLive’s Chris Cotillo.

Drafted by Boston in the first round of the 2018 draft, the infielder has slashed a .281 average, a .389 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging percentage in the minors this year.

Sunday’s first pitch between the Red Sox and Texas Rangers is scheduled for 1:35 p.m.
