BOSTON — Horrible traffic and major backups aside, Bay Staters who routinely frequent the highways and roads of Massachusetts won’t hesitate to admit that driving around here can be a scary experience.
A new report pinpointed the most dangerous time of the day to drive in Massachusetts and when the most crashes occur.
The most dangerous time to drive in the state is during the early evening, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., according to a Forbes Advisor study that analyzed NHTSA data on crashes and fatal accidents from recent years.
That same hour of 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. was found to be the most dangerous time of the day to drive in Maine and New Hampshire as well.
When it comes to days of the week, Saturday had more crashes reported than any other day.
The study didn’t attribute the frequency of accidents to any particular cause or reason.
