Woman dies after getting hit by car in Andover

ANDOVER, Mass. — Police are investigating after a woman was struck and killed by a car in Andover on Wednesday.

The collision happened at Elm Street and Whittier Street around 4:20 p.m., according to a statement from the Essex County District Attorney’s office.

The woman was taken to Lawrence General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The district attorney identified her as a 78-year-old Andover resident.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old Milford woman, remained at the scene.

No charges have been filed, the district attorney said.
