MALDEN, Mass. — Authorities are investigating a deadly scooter collision that occurred in Malden Thursday afternoon.
Crews responding to the area of Eastern Avenue and Broadway for a motor vehicle crash found that two men driving a scooter were hit by a car, according to the Malden Fire Department. The moped could be seen pinned under a white Jeep.
The collision resulted in the death of one person while the other victim in the collision was rushed to a local hospital.
Neither victim’s identity has been released.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
The area of Route 99 Broadway between Route 60 (Eastern Avenue) and Waite Street has been shut down while police investigate.
The cause of the crash has yet to be determined but is under active investigation.
