CHARLTON, Mass. — A North Grafton woman was killed in a crash in Charlton Sunday night.
Police say the crash happened near the intersection of Rt. 20 and L. Stevens Road shortly before 8:49 p.m. Investigators believe the car, a 2001 Toyota Camry, went off the eastbound side of Rt. 20 and hit a piece of construction equipment parked off the side of the road.
The car then went across the property and crossed L. Stevens Road, before coming to a stop at the wood line, according to police.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash but say the road was wet from the rain.
The driver, 24-year-old Ariana Lynn Sanko-Pantojas, sustained significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
