SANDWICH, Mass. — Police have identified an 18-year-old Sandwich resident who was killed in a rollover crash on Route 6 in Sandwich on Friday morning.
Andrew Degan died in the crash that happened at around 5:50 a.m., state police said.
Troopers from the State Police-Bourne Barracks responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Route 6 eastbound before Exit 59 in Sandwich.
A preliminary investigation found that the vehicle went off the roadway into the median, struck a tree, then stuck the wire guardrail and rolled over. Degan, the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash resulted in the closure of the left travel lanes both eastbound and westbound.
