HAMILTON, Mass. — An interesting day on the job for police officers in Hamilton.

Officers were called to the high school on Friday to help corral a horse and a donkey that had escaped from a nearby property.

The animals had gotten loose and were running through traffic before police were able to contain them.

Hamilton police officer Andrew Neill told Boston 25 that this happens often and he actually keeps a lead in his cruiser in case he needs it to rope wayward animals.

This happened about 9:30 a.m. The animals were safely brought back to their barn.
