Police: 1 dead, several injured after rollover crash at the Portsmouth traffic circle

PORTSMOUTH — One person is dead and several injured after an early morning rollover crash at the Portsmouth Traffic Circle.

According to State Police, troopers responded to a call of a rollover crash involving a single vehicle at the junction of the Route 1 Bypass South and Portsmouth traffic circle.

Initial investigation shows that a 2018 Porsche Macan, driven by Tyler Troy, 22, of Northwood, was on the Route 1 Bypass South approaching the Portsmouth Traffic Circle.

The Porsche was occupied by five other people in addition to Troy, several of those people were ejected from the vehicle.

The Porsche left the road and traveled onto a curbed divider, entered the traffic circle, and then into a grass median, causing the Porsche to overturn several times.

Four people were taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

Another person, along with the driver was taken to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Five hours after the crash, one of the female occupants, Drew Ceppetelli, 21, of Barrington died at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

According to police, multiple passing motorists stopped to aid the occupants until EMS arrived.

State Police say, impairment and excessive speed were identified as potential factors in the crash, but the crash is still under investigation.

Portsmouth Traffic Circle was closed for five hours for troopers to investigate and clean up debris, police say. The circle reopened at 6:30 a.m.
