CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A Plymouth man is facing charges following an early morning home invasion and stabbing at a residence on Sciarappa Street in Cambridge.
The Cambridge Police Department told Boston 25 News the suspect, Mark Pincus, 35, Plymouth, allegedly broke into an apartment with a knife at 8:20 a.m. Sunday.
After entering the residence, Pincus displayed a knife before the homeowner pushed the suspect into the hallway and out of her apartment. Pincus proceeded to leave the apartment while the woman called 9-1-1.
While officers were searching for Pincus, they found a 50-year-old man suffering from what is believed to be a stab wound. The victim told officers that Pincus approached him while he was sitting in his vehicle and stabbed him in the upper body before fleeing the scene. The victim was sent to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Shortly after, officers were able to find Pincus, and after he allegedly resisted arrest, was ultimately taken into custody. Police were able to find a knife inside his jean pocket.
Pincus faces several charges, including home invasion, armed assault to murder, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer, carrying a dangerous weapon, and providing a false name/social security number after an arrest. He’s expected to be arraigned in Cambridge District Court on Monday, November 8.
