Passenger ejected, transported following serious crash in Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. — Police were alerted to a motor vehicle accident at approximately 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Brockton after receiving reports that a woman was ejected from the vehicle.

Upon arrival, police located a 22-year-old passenger who was ejected and later transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center with serious injuries. There were three other occupants in the pickup truck, which was a Toyota Tacoma, who were transported by Brewster Ambulance to the same hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was a 27-year-old woman from Weymouth. She was cited by police for allegedly operating under the influence, operating the vehicle negligently, and for marked lane violations.

She allegedly caused a collision as she was heading north on Howard Street. She tried to pass an SUV on the left while the SUV was turning left into a plaza just after Winter Street. The collision resulted in the pickup truck landing on its roof.

Police confirmed to Boston 25 there were no injuries reported from the SUV. The Brockton District Court will summons the driver to face the charges.
