ASHBY, Mass — The snow was coming down at a good rate in some areas of the state. On this winter day, everyone’s backyard had a different story with snow.
Cedric Robinson is a teacher in Fitchburg where school was canceled because of snow. Using his hand, he measured what fell on his car.
“Right there. Probably about almost four inches on top of the car,” said Robinson.
David Smith used a ruler to show what he found on his car. “We seem to be in the snow belt,” said Smith. “I know and it’s not fair.”
As we headed north – we found some of the deepest snow. In Ashby near the New Hampshire line we found more than a half of foot of snow.
Wachusett Mountain ski area in Princeton had absolutely no complaints.
Public Relations Manager Chris Stimpson told us the snow has been falling all day.
“We are happy to see some snow falling,” said Stimpson. “We blew as much like as much snow as we could to kind of withstand some of those warmer temps. So we are averaging about 4 feet of base snow and in some spots it’s up to 9 feet of snow.”
Jason Sparling and his wife, Tara Davis, were at Wachusett Mountain with their two kids. Their school in Holden had a snow day.
“I was surprised because most of the week in Holden it has been about 50 during the day so I didn’t think they would have this much snow,” said Sparling.
“It’s actually not too cold today so I’m not too miserable but it is mainly for our kids,” said Davis.
