SANDWICH, Mass. — A person has died, and three others were injured after a serious head-on crash occurred in Sandwich on Sunday night.
According to police, the incident occurred just before 9 PM when officers were dispatched to 87 Farmersville Road to reports of a crash.
Once on scene, officers found two vehicles that collided head-on: a 2011 Toyota Prius with a sole male operator and a 2017 Toyota Rav-4 with three occupants.
An investigation was conducted on scene, and police determined that “the crash occurred while the Prius was traveling west on Farmersville Road and the Rav-4 was traveling east on Farmersville Road.”
The driver of the Prius was in critical condition and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries. The three other victims in the Rav-4 suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
