CONCORD, New Hampshire — There was a scare for people attending New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu’s State of the State speech Thursday morning after a person collapsed while the governor spoke.
It happened at about an hour into the speech, at 10:50 a.m., as the governor was talking about moving forward and putting new ideas on the table, while not letting distractions from Washington, D.C or other places get in the way.
Video shows people rushing to help the person in need.

The governor did not continue his address.
“The governor spoke with the Speaker of the House and they made the decision not to resume the governor’s closing remarks after a member suffered a medical emergency,” according to a spokesperson for the governor.
Boston 25 has learned that Rep. Ralph Boehm was the person who collapsed at the address. Rep. Stephen Pearson, a Manchester firefighter, and other medical professionals were there and able to assess and treat him immediately. Ralph was conscious when he left for the hospital, according to Katherine Prudhomme O’Brien.
Boehm was taken to Catholic Medical for observation.
Sununu is currently serving his third term as New Hampshire governor.
Prior to the emergency, Sununu spoke about his efforts leading New Hampshire.
“In 2021, the nation grappled with covid - the pandemic continued, straining our health care system and testing us like never before. We came together, cut red tape, flexed open our health care system, and put the tools in place to manage through it,” said Sununu. “Here in New Hampshire, we simply let local solutions from the ground up - not top down - drive our strategy. The nation has taken notice of the success we’ve seen because of that and the model that we have set, and that is thanks to each of you.”
