NH Gov. Sununu tests negative for COVID-19

CONCORD, N.H. — Governor Sununu tested negative for COVID after taking two tests.

“I appreciate all the well wishes,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “I woke up with symptoms similar to Covid and out of an abundance of caution I took two rapid antigen tests, which came back negative, and then followed up with a PCR test, which confirmed the negative. I am going to rest up, and look forward to getting back to the State House soon!”

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu is self-quarantining while he waits to get tested for COVID-19, his office announced Wednesday.

The governor reportedly wasn’t feeling well when he woke up Wednesday morning. Out of an abundance of caution, Wednesday’s Executive Council meeting is being postponed.

His office says that Sununu began self-isolating Wednesday morning and will get a COVID-19 test soon.

The governor is fully vaccinated against the virus.

Officials say he “hopes to get back on his feet soon.”
