New Commuter Rail schedule now in effect

BOSTON — A new Commuter Rail schedule went into effect on Monday morning.

The spring/summer 2022 schedule includes the return of “Heart to Hub” express trains on the the Worcester Line, according to the MBTA. Trains will be able to travel from Worcester to Boston in about one hour.

Passengers will be able to bring bicycles on trains on the Fairmount Line. Passengers will also be able to board trains between Rockport and Beverly with the reopening of the Gloucester Drawbridge. Mid-day service to Foxboro was added to the Franklin/Foxboro Line.

“The schedule update allows us to leverage recent investments made by the MBTA, plan for upcoming infrastructure improvements, and respond to input from the communities we serve to improve service for our passengers,” Keolis CEO Abdellah Chajai said in a news release.
