Multiple horses killed in barn fire at Walpole farm

WALPOLE, Mass. — Eight horses were killed in an overnight fire that tore through a barn at a farm in Walpole.

Aerial video showed raging flames shooting through the roof of the barn on the property of the Mor Linn Farm on North Street.

While some of the horses inside the barn did perish in the fire, some others were able to escape, Boston 25 News has learned.

The Walpole Police Department warned the public to stay away from the area while firefighters battled the blaze.

The owner of the farm, the Kennedy family, shared that they were heartbroken by the devastation but thanked those who responded.

The Kennedy family is devastated by last night’s fire at our beloved Mor Linn Farm. Our hearts are broken by the loss of eight horses. We are grateful for the incredible response of the fire department and first responders from Walpole and surrounding towns who worked so hard to help contain the flames. We thank the community for their outpouring of support.
