MERRIMACK, N.H. — A popular shopping center in New Hampshire was shut down after a rockslide caused a gas leak on Wednesday morning, officials said.

Emergency crews responding to a report of a gas leak at the Merrimack Premium Outlets discovered rocks that had collapsed behind one of the buildings just after 7 a.m., according to Merrimack Fire Rescue.

The rocks fell on a gas line, prompting the evacuation of the shopping center.

In a statement, Fire Rescue said, “Area has been evacuated, and gas has been shut off to the building...We are currently working with Liberty Utilities and Eversource to make the area safe and restore utilities.”

There were no reported injuries.

Crews cleared the scene around 11:30 a.m., but repairs remained ongoing.
