BOSTON — A member of The Lumineers was wandering the streets of Boston this week when he heard the sound of a familiar song wafting through the neighborhood and surprised an unsuspecting fan who was playing the tune.
Lumineers co-founder Jeremiah Fraites was strolling through the city on his off day with the band’s creative director Nicholas Bell. He then stumbled upon Samuel Spencer, who was jamming out to the group’s popular song, “Ophelia,” on a street piano.
In an Instagram post, Fraites said of Spencer, “At first, he didn’t realize that I was from The Lumineers, but he was kind enough to let me hop in and play with him.”
Fraites offered Spencer tickets to the band’s show in Mansfield on Friday before going off on his way.
