Massachusetts State Troopers responded to the scene of a messy tractor trailer accident on Route 79 in Fall River Tuesday evening. While there were no human casualties, the same could not be said for the watermelons on board.
According to MSP, troopers arrived at the scene of the tractor trailer rollover crash at approximately 7:20 p.m. They arrived to find the collection of melons littering the south Massachusetts highway, their innards painting the pavement red and green.
The highway was shut down for an extended period of time. MSP stated that the right lane reopened for traffic on RT79 north and southbound.
The operator of the tractor trailer reported non-severe injuries.
