MBTA: Rider hospitalized after becoming stuck between train door and platform

BOSTON — An MBTA rider was hospitalized after becoming stuck in the gap between train doors and a State Street platform Friday evening.

The female passenger stepped into the gap between an Orange Line train car and the platform around 4:42 p.m., MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo told Boston 25.

The train did not move while the rider was stuck and she was taken to Tufts Medical Center, according to Pesaturo.

Cell phone video captured workers on hand and knee, trying to pry the woman from the dangerous gap.

Officials did not provide an update on her condition.

The MBTA alerted passengers of delays after the incident.
