Mass. landscaping company under investigation after worker dies while trimming trees in NH

NASHUA, N.H. — A Massachusetts-based landscaping company is under investigation after police say a worker died while trimming trees in New Hampshire earlier this week.

Officers responding to a reported workplace accident involving a death in the area of Contant Road in Nashua on Monday learned that 29-year-old Amilcar Lopez-Garcia had suffered a fatal injury, according to the Nashua Police Department.

Lopez-Garcia, of Leo’s Tree Service and Landscaping in Lynn, was trimming trees when he died, police said.

Nashua police detectives are also investigating the accident.

An Occupational Safety and Health Administration spokesperson confirmed that the agency is investigating whether Leo’s complied with workplace safety standards.

There were no additional details immediately available.
