Marshfield woman charged with killing husband held without bail

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — A Marshfield woman charged with fatally stabbing her husband during an argument at their home has been held without bail.

Christine Ricci, 46, was arraigned on a murder charge Monday in Plymouth District Court in connection with the death last Thursday of Michael Ricci, 51, in their Marshfield home.

A not guilty plea was entered on her behalf, The Patriot Ledger reported.

She was originally scheduled to be arraigned Friday, but the hearing was postponed when she collapsed in court and was taken to the hospital.

The suspect told police that the couple was having an argument and she grabbed a knife out of fear and her husband lunged at her and she did not realize she stabbed him until he fell, the prosecutor said in court.

Ricci’s lawyer, Josh Wood, retained the right to seek bail at a later date.

Michael Ricci was a Boston firefighter.
