Man who died in Newton worksite accident identified as Billerica 55-year-old

BILLERICA, Mass. — The 55-year-old who died Thursday in a worksite accident in Newton has been identified as Russell Harron, a Billerica man, the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday afternoon. That fatal incident occurred Thursday morning on Winchester Street in Newton.

Newton Fire Chief Gino Lucchetti said the 55-year-old worker was killed when a wall of a concrete foundation broke off and fell to the ground, pinning Harron underneath. The DA’s office said they are awaiting a ruling from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Harron is the state’s 15th fatality on a worksite this year.
