Man stabbed, suffers life-threatening injuries in Hyde Park, police say

BOSTON — A man was stabbed and suffered life-threatening injuries in Hyde Park on Friday, police said.

An initial investigation by police found that the man had been struck by a metal projectile or shot with a nail gun; however, further investigation revealed that the man had been stabbed, police said Friday evening.

Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday.

The suspect was described by police as a black male, standing 6 feet tall, weighing 235 pounds, and wearing a blue mask, a blue long-sleeve hoody and gray pants.

It is unclear if the suspect and the victim knew each other. The victim is a man in his 60s; his condition at this time is unclear.

The suspect is alleged to have come out of a wooded area and attacked the man.

Police have not yet said if they’ve made an arrest. They have not said if the shooting was a random incident or if it was targeted.
