Man indicted on murder charge in deadly stabbing of 18-year-old in Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, Mass. — A Fitchburg man has been indicted on a murder charge in connection with the deadly stabbing of an 18-year-old in March.

Prosecutors say Jose Ramos Solis, 22, stabbed Gadiel Maria during a fight in the area of Spruce and Salem streets. The fight happened shortly before midnight on March 18, according to the Worcester County District Attorney’s office.

After Maria was stabbed, he drove himself to another location and was then taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
