Man hospitalized after being shot in Salem

SALEM, Mass. — A man shot in Salem on Tuesday afternoon has been hospitalized for his injuries, police say.

Salem Police responded to the area of Palmer and Park streets at around 3 p.m.

At the scene, responding officers found one man suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The man’s current condition is not know at this time nor the extent of his injuries.

Police say they still don’t have any information on the suspects but say the shooting doesn’t appear to be random. The scene has been secured and authorities say there is no risk to the public at this time.
