Lowell pedestrian transported after serious vehicle crash

LOWELL, Mass. — The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office announced late Tuesday night that a pedestrian was struck, which resulted in a serious motor vehicle crash in Lowell.

Lowell Police were alerted to the crash at approximately 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. They received calls that a 32-year-old male was driving down Stevens Street before taking a left on Parker Street and hitting a 73-year-old male.

Officers report that the 73-year-old was then transported to the nearest local hospital with life-threatening injuries sustained by the crash.

Police told Boston 25 that the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene while officers continued to investigate the crash.

Officials have yet to release the identity of the victim and the driver but did confirm that the accident remains under investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Lowell Police.
