BILLERICA, Mass. — Billerica police on Friday are continuing to investigate an armed robbery in which a U.S. Postal Service worker was threatened with a handgun and forced to hand over a master key outside a postal facility.
Officers responded to the U.S. Postal Service sorting facility at 5 Brick Kiln Road around 4:25 p.m. on Thursday after receiving a report of a robbery in the parking lot, according to the Billerica Police Department.
Investigators say two men arrived in a black four-door Cadillac, displayed a handgun, and demanded an arrow key from the worker. The suspects then fled the area, heading toward Chelmsford Street.
An arrow key is a specialized master key used by postal workers to access mail collection boxes and other postal service facilities.
No injuries were reported.
