BROCKTON, Mass — As flames closed in on Myriam Legrand and her children, she knew she had to act fast.

“In my mind, it was like my kids are going to die so I don’t know what I would have done if he wasn’t there,” says Legrand.

A week after Boston 25 News told you about Legrand making a life-or-death decision to drop her kids out the window to their father, she’s still looking for a new place to call home for them.

“It has been very stressful, depressing. It’s the first time we have experienced anything like this. Having to deal with it with children makes it even harder,” says Legrand.

She and three of her children are still looking for a place to stay while her two oldest kids are staying with classmates. She says she hasn’t gotten much help from the Red Cross so she’s thankful for her kids’ football team the Brockton Raiders for helping collect community donations.

“We got some games, some toys, we got bags of boots, shoes, books, some lacrosse gear, all his gear was burnt down in the fire,” says Brandon Newkirk, the Vice President of the Brockton Raiders Football, Lacrosse, and Cheer Organization.

Newkirk is one of the people leading the effort to get Legrand and her family back on their feet.

“Anything we can get until she gets a place just kind of storing it and collecting it and then once she gets settled, we will pass it on to her. Right now, she is still homeless with five kids. People that have never met her have been stepping up. When one of us needs help we all need help. So far it has been great,” says Newkirk.

Legrand still needs car seats and most importantly…

“I just need my home back, my home,” says Legrand.

Legrand did not have renter’s insurance. If you would like to help, she and her family, you can click here to donate: https://gofund.me/a5ae56d2
