STOW, Mass. — A Hudson man is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl he knew at his gymnastics facility in Stow, Mass., according to the Middlesex DA’s office.

David Auger, 41 of Hudson, was arraigned on Friday in Concord District Court on three counts of rape.

Auger is accused of multiple sexual assaults ranging from Jan. 27, 2018 through July 30, 2019, while he was a gymnastics coach at the 10.0 Academy of Gymnastics where he’s the owner. During that time period officials say Auger allegedly assaulted the victim, a student at the gym, on several occasions and allegedly used his position to control her as well.

“The allegations span about a year and a half period from January of 2018 to the summer of 2019,” said Middlesex DA Marian Ryan. “During that time, the allegation is that she was raped several times. That rape was accomplished by the alleged use of perpetrator by his position and attempts to advance her gymnastics career, the threat that by doing what he asked her to do, she would get more opportunities to do things.”

The alleged repeated assaults happened while the victim was 17-years-old and continued until she was 18.

During Auger’s arraignment, he was ordered held on $5,000 bail and ordered to stay away and have no contact with the victim or any of the witnesses, have no unsupervised contact with children under 18, retain no employment, volunteer or paid, at a gym or similar facility and to not travel outside the state without the court’s permission.

At a gymnastics practice Friday parents were shocked to hear the latest allegations but say they’ve had good experiences.

“My daughter is young and has never dealt with him at all,” said one anonymous parent. “She knows not to be alone with certain people.”

“That is some serious accusation there,” said parent Blaine Stuart. “It is what it is. You have to keep vigilant.”

The 10.0 Academy of Gymnastics issued the following statement on Friday:

Late in the day, 10.0 Gymnastics learned about these serious allegations. Upon learning of these charges, we immediately barred that individual from our grounds, informed families about this news, and provided them with Safe Sport/sexual assault resources.”

His next court date is on Sept. 11, 2020, for a probable cause hearing in Concord District Court.

Authorities continue to investigate Auger’s conduct while he operated his gym.
