BOSTON — A budding builder from Seekonk is in the running for Lego’s Mini Master Model Builder title in North America.
Nolan Hurd won the title of Boston’s Mini Master Model Builder after beating out 30 other competitors at Legoland Discovery Center Boston on May 21. Now, he will go up against 16 other budding builders who are representing Discovery Centers across North America.
Nolan was asked to build a Lego creation that represents the city of Boston. Naturally, he went with a familiar sight – a Duck Boat Parade that highlighted Boston’s sports teams.
Nolan visited Legoland Discovery Center Boston on Wednesday, where he talked to Master Model Builder Sean Martin about what inspired his design for the national competition.
“My build is the Boston Duck Boat Parade of Mascots, and I got inspired because I know the theme of the competition was to build something that represents Boston,” Nolan said. “And I thought, what better way to represent Boston than the Boston Sports Mascots? Because Boston is a big place full of sports fans. Then I needed something to link all the mascots together, so then I thought, what better than the Boston Duck Boats?”
Bostonians looking to support their local Mini Master Model Builder can vote now through Monday, June 27 at noon on the Legoland Discovery Center Boston Facebook page.
