Firefighter transported, 2 people displaced after house fire in Dedham

DEDHAM, Mass. — Crews responded to a house fire on Sprague Street in Dedham late Tuesday night at approximately 11:15 p.m.

The Dedham Fire Department told Boston 25 that the fire was severe and ripped through the house, causing major damage. But the department was unable to confirm the overall cost of damage at this time.

The fire resulted in one firefighter being transported to the nearest hospital with minor injuries. There were no other injuries reported from this incident.

As a result of the fire, two residents were displaced, but officials confirmed they received help from other family members. Fire officials added that the cause is still under investigation but appears to have started due to an electrical issue.

The fire was later extinguished, and the scene cleared shortly after 3 a.m.

The Dedham Fire Department received mutual aid from the Quincy, Boston, Canton, Norwood, Needham, and Westwood Fire Departments.
