Fire destroys part of recently purchased home in Medfield

MEDFIELD, Mass. — A fire destroyed part of recently purchased home in Medfield on Tuesday morning.

Crews responding to a report of a fire on Curtis Drive found flames shooting from what appeared to be an attached garage.

Video from the scene showed the garage engulfed in flames and a thick plume of smoke billowing into the air as several firefighters worked to prevent the blaze from spreading to the rest of the home.

The fire has since been knocked down but the garage was reduced to a pile of charred rubble.

There were no reported injuries.

The house, which was empty when the fire broke out, was recently purchased by a couple from Texas, according to Medfield police.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No additional details were available.
