2 firefighters injured as fire burns through vacant home in Savin Hill

BOSTON — Two firefighters were injured after a fire tore through a vacant home in the Savin Hill neighborhood.

Authorities said the fire burned through all the rear porches and interior rear stairs.

A 2nd and 3rd alarm was struck to stop the spread of exposure to neighboring buildings.

Damages were estimated toward $1.5 million on the property.

A car and a garage also caught fire as well, according to officials.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The firefighters are expected to be okay.
