Family of four displaced after late-night fire in East Boston

A family of four will not be celebrating the holidays in their home after a fire ripped through a three-family unit in East Boston on Monday night.

According to the Boston Fire Department, they arrived at 296 Princeton Street around 11:25 pm.

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire and everyone inside the three-family unit was evacuated safely.

The displaced family includes three adults and one infant.

Boston Fire confirmed that one firefighter suffered minor injuries.

Damages are estimated at $100,000.

The family was able to salvage some of their valuables including some Christmas gifts.
