Police: Investigation underway after Lowell mail carrier attacked on route

LOWELL, Mass. — Authorities are investigating after a violent attack on a letter carrier took place in Lowell Tuesday afternoon, according to officials.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Inspector says a USPS mail carrier was on their delivery route when they were assaulted by an unknown suspect. The letter carrier suffered minor injuries and was released, according to investigators.
