A deadly crash in Southern Massachusetts is under investigation.
Police and medical crews responded to the area of Turnpike Street shortly before 7:00 p.m. for a reported fiery crash.
Officers who responded to the scene found that a tractor-trailer truck had collided with a work style van, the latter of which had become engulfed in flames.
The driver of the work van was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tractor-trailer driver suffered minor injuries.
“The investigation into this matter is active and ongoing by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with Easton Police,” the Bristol County District Attorney’s office said.
Easton police say Turnpike Road to Foundry Street to Raynham Town Line will be closed as police respond to the serious crash.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
