Early delivery: Pembroke firefighters help deliver baby at fire station

PEMBROKE, Mass — Firefighters in Pembroke are used to dashing out the door on their way to various emergencies. On Friday, the emergency was delivered to them.

Around 2:00 a.m., Pemrboke Firefighters helped deliver a healthy baby in the station’s parking lot, according to the union’s Facebook page. The family was on their way to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth when they realized the baby was moving faster than the ambulance was.

The family called 911 and pulled into the fire station on Center Street. Three firefighters jumped into the ambulance, assisting the family with their new addition.

“A job well done to FF. Lammi, FF. Dixon, and FF. Joseph!,” Pembroke Permanent Firefighters 2351 wrote on Facebook.
