Driver sought after deadly hit and run in Framingham

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Authorities are looking to identify the driver who was behind the wheel of a car that fatally struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene Sunday evening.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office said that at approximately 8:55 p.m., Framingham police responded to Irving Street for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

A 39-year-old Framingham man was found suffering from serious injuries. Lifesaving measures were performed, but the victim later died at the hospital.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run was a gray 2016 Volkswagen GTI.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the vehicle or driver is asked to contact the Framingham Police Bureau of Investigative Services at 508-532-5924.

The incident remains under investigation.
