EVERETT, Mass. — Everett Fire Department is warning residents to not walk on the ice after a dog fell through an icy pond and died on Wednesday.
Emergency crews jumped into action and “tried their best” to rescue the dog that was in the freezing water, but unfortunately, the dog succumbed to his injuries, according to officials.
Boston 25 recently did a story warning of unsafe conditions and whether walking, skating or running on the ice at this time of the season is deemed safe. In MA the state prefers you to be on ice that is at least four inches, and with temperatures fluctuating from warm to cold it can cause accidents.
