BOSTON — New video shows two bystanders rescuing a man who had fallen onto train tracks in South Boston, just moments before a train pulled into the station.
MBTA surveillance video from June 5 shows a man stumbling down a platform at the Andrew Square station before tumbling onto the tracks. Immediately, two men leap into action, jogging down the platform.
One of the bystanders hopped down into the pit while the other stayed on the platform.
The two bystanders worked to haul the man back onto the platform as the encroaching lights of the oncoming Red Line train rounded the corner.
About 10 seconds after the man is back on solid ground, the train pulls into the train, emptying for passengers.
Transit police say the man who fell declined any medical treatment and walked away under his own power.
The two heroic bystanders have not been identified.
